How To Crochet Sunflower

Fpdc (Front post double crochet)

Tr (Treble/Triple

Sc (Single crochet)

Dc (Double crochet)

Ch (Chain)

Inc (Increase stitch)

sl St (Slip stitch)

Sts (stitches)

Mr (magic ring)

Materials Used

Mustard Yellow 5ply Yarn

Sage Green 5ply Yarn

Khaki Brown 5ply Yarn

3.5mm Hook Size

Flower Stick Wire

Steel Wire

Glue Gun

Stuffing Cotton

Stitch Marker

scissors

Needle

Yarn Details

Strand: 5ply Yarn Brand Name: 递唐紡织SHENG TANG FANG ZHI Fiber Content:80% Cotton 20% Fiber Weight: 50g/roll Yarn Diameter: 2.5mm Suggested Needle size: 3.5 mm - 4.5 mm

CIRCLE FLAT BASE

Make sure to always put the stitch marker

into the 1st sc in each round to mark the point

ROUND 1

- Make a magic ring

- 6 sc into mr

- Pull the yarn tail gently but firmly close the circle

ROUND 2

- 2 sc into each stitch around

(12 sc total around)

ROUND 3

- 1 sc into the 1st stitch

- 2 sc into the 2nd stitch

*Repeat the process

- 1, 2, 1, 2 sc around

(18 sc total around)

ROUND 4

- 1 sc into 1st and 2nd stitch

- 2 sc into the 3rd stitch

*Repeat the process

- 1,1,2,1,1,2 sc around

(24 sc total around)

ROUND 5

- 2 sc into the 1st stitch

- 1 sc into the next 3 stitches

*Repeat the process

- 2,1,1,1,2,1,1,1 sc around

(30 sc total around)

ROUND 6

- 1 sc into the next 4 stitches

- 2 sc into the 5th stitch

*Repeat the process

- 1,1,1,1,2,1,1,1,1,2 sc around

(36 sc total around)

ROUND 7

- 2 sc into the 1st stitch

- 1 sc into the next 5 stitches

*Repeat the process

-2,1,1,1,1,1,2,1,1,1,1,1 sc around

(42 sc total around)

- Slip stitch in the first sc

- Cut and secure the yarn

- Stretch the flat circle a little bit

Make 2 flat circles, Brown and Green 

Place the flat circle together

(Wrong side inside and right side outside)

SUNFLOWER PETALS

- Insert the hook and grab the yellow yarn

- Secure the yellow yarn

Chain 2

- Make 1 dc into the 1st stitch

(The same stitch with the chain 2)

- Make 1 tr into the same 1st stitch

- Chain 3

- Insert the hook into the 2 bar

The spot I put the marker on

Grab a loop 

Grab the yarn into the 2 loops and it creates 1 sc

- Make 1tr into the 2nd stitch

- 1 dc into the same stitch

- Chain 2

- Slip stitch into the 3rd stitch

- Chain 2

- 1 dc into the 3rd stitch

- 1 Tr into the same stitch

- Chain 3

- Insert the hook into the 2 bar

- Grab a loop and make 1 sc

- 1 Tr into the 4th stitch

- 1 dc into the same stitch

- Chain 2 

- Slip stitch into the 5th stitch

Stuff in the cotton wool evenly

*on the last petals

- Chain 2 and slip stitch into the 1st stitch

Cut and secure the yarn tail

21 Petals total 

SUNFLOWER LEAF

ROUND 1

*Work in round

- Make a slip knot

- Chain 8

- Skip 1 chain

- 1 sc into the 1st chain

- 1 hdc into the 2nd chain

- 1 dc into the next 3 sts

- 1 hdc

- Make 3 sc into the last chain

- 1 hdc

- 1 dc into the next 3 sts

- 1 hdc 

- 1 sc into the last stitch

- Slip stitch into the 1st sc

ROUND 2

* Work in round

- Chain 1

- Place the wire under the leaf

- Insert the hook into the stitch 

- Grab the yarn

- Make 1 sc into the next 4 sts

- Make 2 sc into the next 8 stitches

- 1 sc into the next 4 sts

- slip stitch into the 1st sc

- Cut and secure the yarn

ROUND 3

- Make a slip knot

- Attach the yarn in the middle of the leaf

- Insert the hook

- Grab the loop

- Slip stitch

(Repeat the process)

- Cut and secure the yarn

COMBINE 

Put hot glue on the flower Stick

Put in the flower stick 

Add more hot glue to secure the stick

Apply hot glue and wrap the yarn around the stick

Attach the Sunflower leaf

Secure the yarn tail with hot glue
